The Real Ladies of Loudoun County - 5th Anniversary Photo Shoot

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing this amazing beauty! Ragan was one of the The Real Ladies of Loudoun County makeover and photo shoot winners for the group’s 5th Anniversary, and she was pampered by Emily Bella Makeup, LLC, and Nargees Raza! Thank you Ragan for spending your day with us and letting us do this for you!!!!! I can’t wait to work with you again!

Simple elegance... with a little confetti!

Today, I had a lovely young lady in for a birthday session. She didn’t ask for anything special except to include a few friends. Leading up to this session I felt I wanted her to have a special set of her own and was walking through our new Trader Joe’s this week and saw the sweetest little “Party Cake”.  The idea was born in that moment to so simple, elegant, confetti mixed with her only request of rustic and snowy.

Here is an image of the set and cake inspired by a sweet lady about to turn 25 next Friday!  Happy birthday, Crystal!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Sweet Memories Photography!

What a wonderful year of amazing clients and new friends!  Witnessing beautiful weddings, watching babies grow up and families grow, too, meeting new people starting careers - headshots, modeling portfolios; the list goes on!   Going into 2019 we have so much to be thankful for, and I look forward to launching a new teaching element to Sweet Memories!  Pick up that old (or new) camera and learn what all those button do. This is the year to do it!
I cannot wait to share in all the memories you make in 2019!

Thank you all for being a part of my business and my life!

A look back at just some of the amazing people I had the pleasure of meeting and reconnecting with over 2018. Looking forward to more fun in 2019! Music by Young Presidents.

The Family Session - a personal favorite

Family sessions are one of those things that can be done all year long and in the most interesting places around town! Being unique is something I strive for even if you ask to use a super popular site location! I love bringing out your family’s personality and just show everyone having a great time! Bringing out your best you is my goal at every session!

What should we wear?!?!

Be Comfortable.  Clothing should not be something that causes an issue. If your little one really does not like the feel of jeans, don’t worry! Contrasting fabrics work well. Comfort includes shoes. We will be moving around, standing, walking, sitting and the kids should be able to run comfortably, too!

Coordinating COLOR: Easy rules of thumb are to choose one base color - blue, burgundy, dark grey and one complimentary color, pastel or ivory and then one more complimentary neutral like a brown or grey. Pinterest can be a wonderful resource for family photos.

Too Matchy? Coordinate; don’t match.  Choose clothing that share the same style category (if you want the kids in formal dressware, you should also wear the same level of dress). Scarves, pashminas shawls and jackets are great accessories that can create a feeling your are hoping for. It can be 70 degrees out and we can create a Fall feel without even breaking a sweat!

This is Halloween.... Everybody Make a Scene - Memento Mori!

We had a blast this weekend up in Baltimore and visited Edgar Allen Poe’s grave at the Westminster Hall and Burying Ground.  The death of Edgar Allan Poe on October 7, 1849, has remained mysterious, the circumstances leading up to it are uncertain and the cause of death is disputed.  Many people were there to visit, leave roses, read poetry and toast the legend.  We decided to remember our mortality with a stylized photoshoot!  Memento Mori!
Model: Jessica S. and MUA/Model: Sarah C. were a dream to work with on this shoot!  Check out ALL the photos here!
